Riding tours

Here you can ride one of the farm’s Icelandic horses on a guided riding tour and experience the varied natural forest at Nannarp, the crystal clear waters of the quarry or canter along one of Halmstad’s beautiful sandy beaches. The Icelandic horses in the stable are well-ridden and have different characteristics. The tours use everything from the calm, safe Icelandic horse to active racehorses for those looking for a greater challenge in their riding.

Near Skedala in Öppinge, you’ll find the welcoming Ridlycka riding centre External link, opens in new window. nestling in the forest. This is where Joanna runs her riding business, where you can book riding tours, riding lessons or hire a horse. As well as enjoying time with the horses, you can also meet goats, miniature pigs, dogs, ferrets and cats on the farm. If you want to get out into the forest on horseback, the tour is adapted to your needs and previous experience. Maybe you want to enjoy a ride through the forest on horseback? Or are you looking for more speed and a gallop on your ride? Whatever the tempo, you’ll have the opportunity to experience enjoyable riding trails in the leafy forest, through open fields and by beautiful lakes.

Halmstad has lots of lovely riding trails in the countryside for you and your four-legged friend to explore. Enjoy the forest, the coast and the beach!

Riding on the beach

Riding along Halmstad’s long sandy beaches is something everyone should have on their bucket list. Riding down into the sea and wandering along the shoreline, or galloping along, feeling the sea air in your face all offer a unique feeling. Both horse and rider can enjoy the wonderful sense of freedom.

From 15 September until 1 May, you’re allowed to take the horse with you and ride along Halmstad’s beaches. You must take your camera with you to capture the perfect image for Instagram.

Riding on the beach is an unbeatable experience, but bear in mind that you are not allowed to ride on sand dunes and that the beaches are closed for riding during the summertime (2 May–14 September). Always show consideration for others and nature.

Galgberget

Haverdal nature reserve

Annies Gård

This riding trail is also in Haverdal, but on the area by Annies Gård (Annie’s Farm) a short way from the Haverdal nature reserve.
